Armed with her Louisville Slugger (to wallop those creepy Trogs into the next county) and a jar of peanut butter (in case she gets hungry), her search leads her through a portal in the woods to The Overthere -- and Michael. He's sixteen going on sixty and wants nothing to do with an outsider. When Bobbi saves his little brother's life, Michael reluctantly agrees to help her. It becomes a race against time when Michael tells her that each night she spends in The Overthere might mean years -- if not decades -- will pass before she returns to her home in Shine. Staying fifteen forever doesn't sound like much fun and going home decades in the future doesn't either.

I got this book during a free promotion. I hate to rate below a 3- but I cannot give it a 3 if I didn't even finish the novel (I made it about half way through before I gave up)While the story was fine- there was much that kept tripping me up. I know how hard it can be to write a novel and have every word be perfect and every comma in the right place. For most parts I am a very liberal reader when it comes to these thing- but this book just had too much for me to continue reading. Names were not capitalized, commas were missing everywhere, and dialogue was very strange at parts. I felt I was missing something at many parts. This novel would be greatly improve with just a simple copy edit to catch all the little mistakes (I just opened to a random page and found three easily correctible mistakes) I would not recommend this book until there is more editing done.

Between the Moon and Shine is the story of boy/girl twins who are staying with their grandmother for a while. While they are there, mysterious rumors float around about a list of people who disappeared. Some of these rumors even hint that the supernatural may be involved...
I thought this was a pretty good book. I liked the characters a lot, and I thought the use of pixies/fairies was very nice, and not what you see a lot. The book kept a nice pace. It wasn't too fast, but it wasn't slow either. It definitely picked up about halfway through the book.
What really kept this from being great to me was the ending. I won't say how it ends, but it felt extremely abrupt and unresolved. I know some authors like to leave room for interpretation, but I felt this ending was almost too open ended. It just didn't seem to go in a logical direction. If there is a sequel to this then that could change things, but I'm not sure what the sequel would exactly contain.
Overall, I did enjoy it. I loved the lead romance, and the major characters were very charming.
Between the Moon and Shine was a very original and quite well written novel. The supernatural concepts in this story were very well developed. The reader is completely immersed in the world and all that comes with it. The world in which the twins find themselves is very vividly described and definitely larger than life, as it should be as an Otherworld. Clark’s descriptions are definitely fitting for this novel. You can picture almost everything as clear as day (or night....).
The main characters are fairly well developed. You find out who they are, but not a great deal about their histories. The author tends to dwell on certain aspects of the characters while almost skipping over others. I also found that many of the minor characters remained quite superficial. Some were little more than a name. However, the different supernatural species encountered were quite well developed. You got to know a great deal about the races and what they tended to do. I am also a little perplexed as to the role of the dog in the story. It tended to disappear and reappear at random, without actually serving a purpose.
Despite the many great aspects of this novel I found it very hard to get into. I also found myself questioning the actions of the characters a few times. As a whole, it was a brilliant introduction to the Overthere. I am very interested in the route that the characters will take in the sequel and to learn more about the Overthere.

This is soooooooo good. I couldn't put it down. Lori Clark has a unique way of thinking and the stories she writes pull you right in to the characters.
Really enjoyed the book, but wished it was longer. I wanted Bobbi to contact Avery. I would recommend this as a must read.
